This post may be basic for those who are already successful with selling on ebay but if you’re just starting out then this will hopefully help you.
I wanted to share with you a very simple process for making money on ebay, find out what people want and sell them it or sell them info products related to physical products.
Step 1 open up notepad on your computer and write down a list of your ten favourite hobbies. Remember though this list of hobbies is just to get you started, really we want to know what people on ebay are buying so we can profit from them. Keep an open mind as to what you want to sell.
The rule is find what people want to buy and sell them the physical product or a related info product (cd)
Step 2 head on over to ebay and find which category products in your hobby or niche are been sold in. use the categories list to find where products related to your lists are been sold. The amount of niche markets you’ll find in the categories section is huge. It’s a great place to find out what sells in any market.
If there’s a category for an item on ebay, then the product sells or it wouldn’t be there, your job is to find out what sells the most in each category and how much profit can you make per sale from the item.
Click through any link that contains products within your niches (hobbies) and write down the categories the products are listed in.
Step 3 use ebay pulse to find keywords people within your niche market are using to look for products to buy. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket you could use ebay market research terapeak but it’s not necessary for your needs at this time.
Ebay pulse will do fine for finding markets to profit from. Take note of the largest shops which will be on the right of the ebay pulse page.
visit them and add to your text document what items they are selling lots of. Don’t think of these people as competition, think of them as research.They are going to tell you what’s selling and what’s not in your niche.
At the bottom of the ebay pulse page you will see the most watched items. Check out what these items are and add them to your text document of possible big sellers.
Step 4 click through the keyword on ebay pulse and you’ll be taken to live auctions, take a look at several listings and make a note of the categories products you want to sell are listed in.
Step 5 now tick the completed listings tab on your left and scour at least 5 to 10 pages of completed listings. Make a note of any product that sells more than once. These are items you want to be selling.
Step 6 find powersellers with lots of daily feedback and sales, the largest shops in ebay pulse will more than likely be powersellers. Or just check out current listings you usually find a powerseller on page 1 or 2 due to the amount of items they list. Again make a note of any products they sell more than once.
Step 7 Make a decision on what you want to sell, will it be a physical product or info product. I suggest starting with info products to get going quickly. If you want to sell physical products reply to this post and I will provide you with some good wholesalers.
Step 8 whatever niche market you choose to make money from ask yourself what would you buy yourself and don’t forget to use the keywords from ebay pulse for info product ideas.
Step 9 create the info product to sell to your niche. A simple twenty page report with top quality info will do fine. Put related product affiliate links in the report and offer resell rights on the product to make it go viral on ebay. Put a resources list at the end of the report, again with links to your websites and affiliate products.
Step 10 Take MASSIVE ACTION.
Info products are a huge seller on ebay and can be used to build very targeted mailing lists of buyers, plus your viral reports are a great way of driving targeted traffic to your websites or affiliate products.

I have just been to ebay and checked out the business/management category in ebay pulse. The keyword Marketing is in the top ten in 3 separate keyword combinations.
After visiting the current live auctions and checking completed listings it’s obvious to me that anyone who wants to TAKE ACTION and make lots of lovely money quickly only has to create a simple report on how to market a business or product better and you could be making money and building a list this time tomorrow.
