Part 5: How to list for maximum sales and cash

Hi, hope your well, the time here in the u.k as I write this 7.30am and I’ve got my coffee all fired up so I’m ready to go.

Today let’s look at how to list on eBay for maximum visitors and profit.

There are a few things we need to do to make big bucks and guarantee lots of visitors to our eBay auction and most importantly get that sale.

Let’s keep working with the guitar example we’ve used so far.

The first thing you need to do is go to eBay and put the description of your item in eBay’s search box.

I put in fender Stratocaster guitar. This contains two keywords currently in eBay pulse’s top ten words used by people on eBay searching for a guitar to buy.

Next write down the category all the fender Stratocaster s are being sold in, in this case it’s Musical Instruments > Guitars > Electric > Fender

This is where you would list your fender Stratocaster.

Next you want to check out completed listings and search for your item. Has it being sold a good few times? How much did it sell for?

Write down all the titles of at least ten successful auctions for your product and then look for commonalities. When I searched completed listings for the fender guitar I found that fender and Stratocaster where pretty much used all the time.

In fact here’s the title of an auction where a fender guitar sold for £500.00p British pounds. That’s about a thousand dollars.

GENUINE USA FENDER STRATOCASTER ELECTRIC GUITAR

As we can see our friend has used the keywords fender and guitar so that’s a good start. Electric is also a good keyword as many people search using the words electric guitar.

So there are lots of positives we can learn from here. I personally like to use as many keywords as possible without having my listing closed by eBay.

So I would try to fit some of the other keywords that eBay pulse give me. Just mess about with your title and get as many keywords in as possible.

For instance this won’t work Fender guitar Gibson rockman marshall. Basically this is the top five keywords found in eBay pulse. This will get your auction shut down. Keyword spamming is no good.

Blend in the keywords in a way that makes your title read ok. We must have fender and guitar, the model type always attracts very targeted buyers so Stratocaster wants to be in there. Electric is a good word and I like to put in something catchy that makes my auctions stand out.

Something like play like Hendrix would work well here, I’ve found using famous people connected to the object in some way has worked well for me and always brought lots of traffic to my auctions.

You should also consider using the featured listing format if the item’s sale price warrants it, this will guarantee you lots of exposure and traffic looking at your listing.

Ok folks that’s all today, where slowly taking a piece of the eBay pie one bite at a time. Keep taking Action.

Part 4 : ebay pulse

Hello again and welcome back.

In part 4 of your free course I am going to show you how to find and use the keywords buyers in your niche are using to find products on eBay.

As we’ve discovered information products are a huge seller on eBay with many people making lots of lovely dollars every day.

Of course information isn’t the only big seller on eBay and I will show you how I turn businesses who have never sold online before into eBay powerseller’s in ninety days. Many of them have gone on to leave eBay and set up websites but they all started out on eBay.

Anyway let’s get on with it. There are many ways to find out what’s selling on eBay. There’s completed listings which shows you what’s sold and what hasn’t in your niche.

There’s eBay market research which you want to use when you’re making money. You have to pay for this service and it’s worth it if you have the money.

The other way which where going to look at today is eBay pulse, pulse is a section on eBay where you can see the top ten searched words in every category on eBay.

What I would advise you to do is find your niche in eBay pulse and see which keywords relate to you and your ideas, if none of it does throw out your ideas and write something based around the keywords you find in eBay pulse.

Remember sell people what they are actively searching for and not what you think they want.

You can get to eBay pulse here and i’ve just been to ebay.com and used it to exam the musical instrument catergory to discover what people are looking to buy. here’s what i found.

1. gibson
2. fender
3. guitar
4. rockman
5. marshall
6. esp
7. banjo
8. gibson les paul
9. ibanez
10. bass

Now here’s what you could do if your interested in the music biz, create a “how to buy a Gibson cheap” or how to be play a fender guitar in six weeks gauranteed”

Create an ebook like that and list in this category using the keywords above and you’d be making money in no time.

Get yourself over to ebay pulse and take your time finding keywords people are using to search for products in your niche market. Save them all to a text document.

Later we will use these keywords when you’re listing on eBay and we’ll cover that next time.

Check back in a few days.

A Quick Recap

Ok I hope all is going well for you, let’s have a recap of what we’ve discovered so far.

If you’ve been following the course from day one and taken action you should have so far.

Found a niche or hobby you’re interested in through researching eBay categories.

You’ve discovered that everyone who takes part in a hobby needs two things.

No1: Physical products that help them enjoy or get better at there hobby. We used fishing as an example. (People need fishing rods, nets, clothes etc.)

No2: information to help them learn more about and get better at there hobby. People love to find new techniques or learn more about the history of there hobby, or even better they love to be shown how to make money from there interests.  If you can provide people within any niche these two things you’ll make money.

So far we’ve looked at creating and selling information because I think this is the best way to make money from your niche on eBay.

Its also a great way of building a mailing list.

You’ll have no competition because your products original, plus it’s easy to find resell rights or PLR information products cheaply that you can edit and make your own. There are links to resources in my previous post.

In later posts as you get more advanced eBay skills I’ll show you how to make big profits from listing and selling physical products from home but for now let’s stick with info products.

In the next post coming tomorrow I’m going to show you how to find the hot keywords people within your niche are using to search for what they want on eBay. This is going to help you list your item for maximum traffic, sales and exposure on eBay.

Check back tomorrow for more.

Best
