Part 5: How to list for maximum sales and cash

Hi, hope your well, the time here in the u.k as I write this 7.30am and I’ve got my coffee all fired up so I’m ready to go.

Today let’s look at how to list on eBay for maximum visitors and profit.

There are a few things we need to do to make big bucks and guarantee lots of visitors to our eBay auction and most importantly get that sale.

Let’s keep working with the guitar example we’ve used so far.

The first thing you need to do is go to eBay and put the description of your item in eBay’s search box.

I put in fender Stratocaster guitar. This contains two keywords currently in eBay pulse’s top ten words used by people on eBay searching for a guitar to buy.

Next write down the category all the fender Stratocaster s are being sold in, in this case it’s Musical Instruments > Guitars > Electric > Fender

This is where you would list your fender Stratocaster.

Next you want to check out completed listings and search for your item. Has it being sold a good few times? How much did it sell for?

Write down all the titles of at least ten successful auctions for your product and then look for commonalities. When I searched completed listings for the fender guitar I found that fender and Stratocaster where pretty much used all the time.

In fact here’s the title of an auction where a fender guitar sold for £500.00p British pounds. That’s about a thousand dollars.

GENUINE USA FENDER STRATOCASTER ELECTRIC GUITAR

As we can see our friend has used the keywords fender and guitar so that’s a good start. Electric is also a good keyword as many people search using the words electric guitar.

So there are lots of positives we can learn from here. I personally like to use as many keywords as possible without having my listing closed by eBay.

So I would try to fit some of the other keywords that eBay pulse give me. Just mess about with your title and get as many keywords in as possible.

For instance this won’t work Fender guitar Gibson rockman marshall. Basically this is the top five keywords found in eBay pulse. This will get your auction shut down. Keyword spamming is no good.

Blend in the keywords in a way that makes your title read ok. We must have fender and guitar, the model type always attracts very targeted buyers so Stratocaster wants to be in there. Electric is a good word and I like to put in something catchy that makes my auctions stand out.

Something like play like Hendrix would work well here, I’ve found using famous people connected to the object in some way has worked well for me and always brought lots of traffic to my auctions.

You should also consider using the featured listing format if the item’s sale price warrants it, this will guarantee you lots of exposure and traffic looking at your listing.

Ok folks that’s all today, where slowly taking a piece of the eBay pie one bite at a time. Keep taking Action.

Part 4 : ebay pulse

Hello again and welcome back.

In part 4 of your free course I am going to show you how to find and use the keywords buyers in your niche are using to find products on eBay.

As we’ve discovered information products are a huge seller on eBay with many people making lots of lovely dollars every day.

Of course information isn’t the only big seller on eBay and I will show you how I turn businesses who have never sold online before into eBay powerseller’s in ninety days. Many of them have gone on to leave eBay and set up websites but they all started out on eBay.

Anyway let’s get on with it. There are many ways to find out what’s selling on eBay. There’s completed listings which shows you what’s sold and what hasn’t in your niche.

There’s eBay market research which you want to use when you’re making money. You have to pay for this service and it’s worth it if you have the money.

The other way which where going to look at today is eBay pulse, pulse is a section on eBay where you can see the top ten searched words in every category on eBay.

What I would advise you to do is find your niche in eBay pulse and see which keywords relate to you and your ideas, if none of it does throw out your ideas and write something based around the keywords you find in eBay pulse.

Remember sell people what they are actively searching for and not what you think they want.

You can get to eBay pulse here and i’ve just been to ebay.com and used it to exam the musical instrument catergory to discover what people are looking to buy. here’s what i found.

1. gibson
2. fender
3. guitar
4. rockman
5. marshall
6. esp
7. banjo
8. gibson les paul
9. ibanez
10. bass

Now here’s what you could do if your interested in the music biz, create a “how to buy a Gibson cheap” or how to be play a fender guitar in six weeks gauranteed”

Create an ebook like that and list in this category using the keywords above and you’d be making money in no time.

Get yourself over to ebay pulse and take your time finding keywords people are using to search for products in your niche market. Save them all to a text document.

Later we will use these keywords when you’re listing on eBay and we’ll cover that next time.

Check back in a few days.

Gary

A Quick Recap

Ok I hope all is going well for you, let’s have a recap of what we’ve discovered so far.

If you’ve been following the course from day one and taken action you should have so far.

Found a niche or hobby you’re interested in through researching eBay categories.

You’ve discovered that everyone who takes part in a hobby needs two things.

No1: Physical products that help them enjoy or get better at there hobby. We used fishing as an example. (People need fishing rods, nets, clothes etc.)

No2: information to help them learn more about and get better at there hobby. People love to find new techniques or learn more about the history of there hobby, or even better they love to be shown how to make money from there interests.  If you can provide people within any niche these two things you’ll make money.

So far we’ve looked at creating and selling information because I think this is the best way to make money from your niche on eBay.

Its also a great way of building a mailing list.

You’ll have no competition because your products original, plus it’s easy to find resell rights or PLR information products cheaply that you can edit and make your own. There are links to resources in my previous post.

In later posts as you get more advanced eBay skills I’ll show you how to make big profits from listing and selling physical products from home but for now let’s stick with info products.

In the next post coming tomorrow I’m going to show you how to find the hot keywords people within your niche are using to search for what they want on eBay. This is going to help you list your item for maximum traffic, sales and exposure on eBay.

Check back tomorrow for more.

part 3: How to create a product quickly

Ok today we are going to look at what type of info products sell best and how to create them quickly.  EBooks on CD are some of the hottest selling products on eBay, ask John Thornhill.

In fact Information is the most searched for thing on the internet.Tons of people are willing to pay big bucks for info on a subject there interested in.

people are especially willing to pay for information that makes them either better at there hobby or shows them How to make money out of there hobby.

Let’s look at how to create your product.

There are two different ways to create info products quickly. Remember we only need twenty to thirty pages. The first way is to write the eBook yourself. Selling your own eBook is the way to go as far as I’m concerned. You can sell it for whatever price you want. You are in competition with absolutely no one and you can dominate the niche market you’re targeting on ebay.

The second way to create an info product quickly is to buy some plr or resell rights articles. These are articles written by other people which you buy very cheaply and then do what you want with. You can edit the content in any way you want and sell the EBook as your own. Add your own affiliate links, put in the URL of your own websites to drive traffic there, etc.

In fact there’s a very simple resell rights blueprint i follow to achieve success with this in double quick time, check it out.

Selling info products on eBay can be very profitable if you know what you’re doing and is a great way of getting leads and building mailing lists which we’ll look at another time.

Thanks for checking in and come back in a few days to receive part 4 of the course.

Don’t forget to join my blog newsletter where I reveal more money making secrets and you’ll also get first notification of new blog posts.

Part 2: What To Sell On Ebay

Ok in lesson 1 you looked at how to find a niche market to sell to on eBay; hopefully you’ve spent some time looking around the categories section of eBay, a great place to find niches galore and wrote down a list of your favorite hobbies.

Now you’re going to look at products you can sell to people interested in the same things as you. So let’s use the niche of fishing as an example.

I have never fished so know nothing about this hobby but I can tell you what people interested in fishing want to buy.

If your favorite hobby is fishing you need two things to enable you to enjoy it.

Number 1: fishing gear. Rods, net, bait, clothing etc. all these things need to be bought before you even begin to enjoy your hobby.

Number 2: information. You need to learn how to fish, where the best places to fish are, what type of equipment you need, etc. (we covered some of that above.)

Now here’s the important thing, we’ve just established that there are two types of products that anyone interested in any niche must have.

And it doesn’t matter what the niche is the laws above transfer to all niches.

Physical Products and information. Without these two things no one can enjoy or pursue a hobby.

We need information to learn how to do something and physical products to actually do the thing.

Now for the good bit, it’s show me the money time.

The easiest way to make money is to give people what they are looking for, don’t create a product and sell it unless people are actively searching for it.

You can find out what people are looking for by using a keyword tool or copying the simple steps we’ve covered above.

So if you want to make money from the fishing or any other niche then you have a simple choice. Either sell physical products or information.

If you want to sell fishing gear, physical products then you need to buy wholesale or dropship. www.best-wholesale-dropshippers.com has great free info on buying and selling wholesale.

Or visit jimmy Huber at salehoo if you want to pursue this route.

For your first attempts at selling on eBay I would recommend the information products route. It’s without doubt the most profitable route to take, you can make money quickly and easily.

Plus you can create your “How to” info product in hours which can be sold over and over again at nearly one hundred percent profit. Plus as you created it there’s no competition at all. It’s an original.

The great thing is you only need to stick twenty pages together, burn it to a CD and you’ve got a product to sell forever. It doesn’t need to be the Gettysburg address to sell.

People will pay big bucks for quality info, the amount of pages does’nt matter one bit.

If you want to learn How to make money selling info products on ebay there’s no one better than the man i learned from John Thornhill, check out his powerseller site here, John makes thousands of dollars a month selling info on ebay.

Ok where going to leave it there today but in a couple of day’s time I’m going to show what type of info products sell best and how to create them in minutes.

This is going to be so easy you won’t believe it.

If you want to create product after product for pennies on the dollar and have them listed on eBay ready to go in minutes you don’t want to miss lesson 3.

Part 3 is coming to a computer near you in the next few days.

see you there.

That’s all for today folks.

Part one: How to find a hot niche market

Ok welcome to my easy to copy, step by step plan for finding niches and making money on eBay.

How to find a hot niche market.

if you’re struggling to come up with ideas ask yourself what you would do if you didn’t have to work.

Would you spend your time fishing? Would you race model RC cars? Knit jumpers, collect stamps or antique furniture.

If you spend half an hour writing down all your interests and hobbies I guarantee you’ll come up with a ton of ideas and find eBay sellers making money selling products of all kinds to other people in your niche.

The best place to find your niche on eBay is by spending a couple of hours searching eBay’s categories section.

if you click on any link in the catergories section you’re taken to more areas within the niche and current listings live on eBay.

There really isn’t an easier way to find a niche market.

Visit eBay. Com’s category section here.

After you’ve found your niche market you then need a product to sell to them, something people want to buy something there actively searching for.

And that’s what where Gonne cover in part 2 of this mini course.

Check back in a couple of days.

ebay’s fee changes

Well things have been heating up on eBay.

There are changes galore and I’m sure the worry mongers will tell everyone that eBay is killing off the selling of info products.

But as eBay info product selling king john thornhill teaches us. You should always look for the positives in everything because you can’t do anything about the changes eBay makes, just go with it and try to find ways to benefit from them as much as possible.

one of the big changes is that buy it now will cost £0.40p to list an item for thirty days unless it’s a media product then its £0.20p.

Now everyone is seeing the negatives in this change and to be honest I don’t blame them. But let’s look at the positives, you can now list your product for sale on eBay for thirty days for a one of £0.40 pence fee.

That’s ten pence a week to get your product in front of millions of buyers. Compare that to the cost of advertising your product using Google adwords and I’m sure you can still see the positives of listing on eBay.

Also the fee for a gallery picture has been kicked out altogether, so you can have a nice gallery picture for free. This is a great positive.

Anyway that’s it for today, next time I’m going to show you how to discover niches on eBay and tell you how to profit from them.

First Steps on Ebay

Ok I’m going to start the posts with the beginner in mind, I know when I was starting out I needed simple step by step tips and advice on how to make money on eBay.

So I am going to start at the beginning (bear with me if you have advanced selling and marketing skills) The first thing you need to do is sign up for an eBay seller’s account, then you need to find a niche market to sell to.

On eBay there are literally thousands of niches waiting for you to make big bucks from.

It doesn’t matter what hobbies you have you can find products being sold on eBay relating to that niche. Now the first rule of thumb is this.

“DON’T try selling what you think will sell, find out what people WANT to buy and sell them it.”

So the first thing you want to do is head on over to eBay and find out what people within your niche are buying and selling, spend a couple of hours going through all the category’s in your niche and find out what’s selling and at what price.

Over the next few days I am going to show you how to find niches to profit from on eBay and how to find out what’s selling so bookmark my blog and keep coming back for more free money making tips and advice.
