Internet marketing in Hull my home town.

As an eBay consultant and internet marketing expert I have helped a number of businesses in my home town of Hull, U.K. England make it big on eBay or get more traffic to there websites.

A lot of businesses though even today (2009) don’t have websites or even worse they have spent a fortune getting websites built that are nothing more than good looking online postcards. They get no traffic and rarely make sales on there sites.

So this little post is for all small businesses in hull, Yorkshire my hometown who are struggling with the recession.

The first thing you MUST do is start building a mailing list. We have a saying online

“The money is in the list” this has never been more true, building an ongoing relationship with your clients should be your number one goal.

Gathering the name and email address of every potential client who walks into your business should be your number one goal.

Then all you need to do is get your internet marketing advisor to put all the contact details into an auto responder so that you can contact them anytime you want with special offers and discounts, freebies etc.

The power of this is huge, if your having a quiet week all you have to do to get a flood of clients is send a special offer to your ever-growing mailing list and you’ll have the phone ringing in no time and what was a quiet time can become a busy time very quickly.

I have a whole list of ways to make money from email marketing and I could go on forever but the most basic point for now you must take action on is, “start building a mailing list” make this your thing to do in 2009.

Doing this alone could save your business at a time when a lot of businesses are struggling and going under. Ok let’s leave it there for today.
